The International Network Education Institute (IIOE) aims to provide specific strategies for achieving United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, and helping partner institutions in developing countries achieve the specific education goals for 2030.

The IIOE Pioneer Award was established by UNESCO-ICHEI to promote digital transformation of higher education by recognising good practices from IIOE partners, higher education institutes, enterprises, and beyond.

Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and UNESCO signed Framework Funds-in-Trust Agreement to Support UNESCO's Activities in Favor of Education Development in Asia and Africa, and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government funded the establishment of the UNESCO-Shenzhen Funds-in-Trust (SFIT) Programme.

In recent years, the application of various innovative technologies, particularly Information and Communication Technology (ICT), has become increasingly widespread in higher education. Higher education should keep pace with the latest technological advancements, explore best practices for integrating ICT into higher education, and promote educational equity and quality improvement.

UNESCO-ICHEI actively expands cooperation with various parties, facilitates the implementation of projects, and establishes a platform for exchanges and cooperation between global partners and experts in the field, shares experience and best practices, and deepens project results by holding or participating in international, regional and national conferences.
